在拉曼大學創辦詠春學會
24歲的工程師任界維，於2018年在拉曼大學就讀機械工程係時，創辦了詠春學會。任界維是原國榮的徒弟，學習詠春已超過9年。他希望更多年輕⼈能接觸詠春，為此創辦這學會，迄今雖已畢業且工作，仍擔任該學會的教練。「學員有20多人，除了華裔學生，也有印裔學生，在教學時，必須轉換英語 。」他指出，詠春注重在應用手法，而不是打打套路，需要和同伴一起練習，才能學會應用。對於學習詠春對他帶來最大的益處，就是學會冷靜，讓他在人生中面對任何事情，都能從容應對。

Establishment of Wing Chun Club at Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR)
Engineer Gim Jie Wei, 24 years old, founded the Wing Chun Club in 2018 while studying Mechanical Engineering at UTAR. Gim Jie Wei has been a student of Yoon Kok Weng for over 9 years. He hopes to introduce Wing Chun to more young people, which is why he founded the club. Even though he has graduated and is now working, he still serves as the coach of the club. "There are over 20 members, including Chinese and Indian students. When teaching, I have to switch to English," he pointed out. He emphasized that Wing Chun focuses on practical techniques rather than forms, requiring practice with partners to learn application. The greatest benefit he gained from learning Wing Chun is the ability to stay calm, enabling him to face anything in life with composure.
“From Campus to Community: Appreciating Alumni Contribution & Support”
I graduated from Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR) in 2021 with a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Mechanical Engineering. Since graduation, I have continued to teach Wing Chun classes at UTAR under the auspices of the UTAR Wushu Club. While Wing Chun is a well-known self-defense martial art, it is not commonly taught in universities, and many institutions do not offer Wing Chun classes.
My goal is to ensure that UTAR students have the opportunity to learn and practice this art, thereby contributing to the preservation and dissemination of Wing Chun within the academic community. By offering these classes, I am delighted to give back to UTAR, sharing the skills and knowledge I have acquired to enrich the university experience for current students.
